QPS Training

A training program will be offered to assist practices to understand and implement the Standard. The program is comprehensive, affordable and will be made readily accessible to all practices and practitioners throughout Australia.

The training program will be offered in two workshop stages:

Stage One
The first stage will be a compulsory three hour introductory workshop in a group forum. It will provide:

  • An overview of the elements of the Standard and guidelines to implementation;
  • Information on how to develop and document procedures;
  • Information on further training options;
  • Details of other forms of assistance, such as the use of consultants; and
  • An outline of the auditing process.
  •
    Stage Two
    Optional training, also in a group forum, comprising:

  • A more detailed understanding of the elements of the Standard;
  • Further assistance in the development of documented procedures;
  • Suggested ways to introduce new procedures into the practice; and
  • Skills which enable internal assessment of the practice's readiness for the certification audit.
  • Training will be conducted at regular seminars organised by the Law Society or within firms where there are multiple participants, under arrangements that will be negotiated by the Society.

    In-House Training
    The in-house Quality Practice Standard Training in your office can also be arranged at a time to suit your firm and QPS trainer. The QPS training is beneficial for the whole firm to attend and group booking discount applies for one-to-one training.

    The following CPD points apply for participants who attend in-house QPS training:
  • CPD Points: 2 ½ points (Competency 1, Legal Skills and Practice)
  • CPD Points: 2 points (Competency, 2 Values)

  • Upcoming QPS Training
    The next series of Quality Practice Standard workshops that incorporates the 'New Standard' will be held at the Law Society of Western Australia, Level 4, 89 St Georges Terrace, Perth.

    The dates of these workshops are still to be confirmed. Keep checking back for workshop dates, details and registration forms.
